Studentendorf Vauban, established in the former Vauban barracks on Merzhauser Strasse, comprises circa 600 spaces. The houses are idylically situated on park-like grounds surrounded by plenty of green and a number of old trees. Living set-ups here include group apartments for two to nine people as well as single apartments and rooms. All rooms have internet access.
Vauban is in a sense a "new" dormitory, as the renovation of the building was completed in 1997. A lively culture has since developed, with a bar, music rehearsal rooms, a village counsel and many extracurricular programs including a bicycle repair shop and an open air cinema in the summer. With the bus or your own bicycle, the city center is just a few minutes away.
