Studying in Freiburg with the Studentenwerk’s Service Package for international students.

Especially for international students, Freiburg has a lot to offer: its position in the Tri-National Triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland, the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains right outside the door, 28,000 students from all over the world, prestigious academic institutions and – the Studentenwerk’s Service Packet, including a room, health insurance, and the aid of friendly dormitory assistants.

The Service Package can be ordered one semester at a time. It includes:

• a furnished room in an apartment (shared use of kitchen and shower/bathroom) in a Studentenwerk-operated residence
• Student health insurance
• Intensive personal counseling and assistance of Studentenwerk „Tutoren" as well as the opportunity to participate in the International Semester Program in the residences
• your social contribution payment, which is payed to your institution upon matricualting, which entitles you to all the services of the Studentenwerk: cafeterias, cafés, accident-, damage- bicycle and wardrobe-theft insurance, social counseling, psychotherapeutic counseling, childcare, loans and job service
• membership and club card for the International Club
• a welcome package with lots of useful information
• MensaCard with starter credit
• A coupon for a Studentenwerk-led excursion
• for an additional 15-€ you can purchase the optional Off-Hour-Service which allows for evening and weekend arrivals

Price of the Service Package for one semester:

starting at 2.244 - € with health insurance

starting at 1.777- € without health insurance

Applications for the winter semester must be submitted by 31 July of the respective year, summer semester applications are due by 31 January.
